Everything you need to know for The Summit Center 2023 Autism Walk!

The Summit Center Autism Walk, presented by West Herr, is a community event to raise funds in support of Summit’s programs and services in Western New York.
When: Saturday, May 13
            8:00 am: Check In Tent Opens
            9:30 am: Opening Ceremonies, Walk to follow

Where: The Summit Center, 150 Stahl Road, Getzville NY 14068

Cost: $10 registration fee. Children under 18 are free and do not need to register. If you have family and friends who are planning to walk but have not registered yet, please make sure they do so before they arrive. If they have only donated to your page, they are NOT registered to walk.
Parking: Parking will be located at the Amherst Police Station, 500 John James Audubon Pkwy. Three shuttle buses will continuously run between Summit and the police station (7:30 am - 1 pm).

Walk Routes: Walkers can choose to walk the short route (1 mile) or the long route (2 miles). The Walk will begin following Opening Ceremonies at 9:30 am. To minimize congestion on the sidewalks, long route walkers will leave the parking lot first, and short route walkers will follow. Click here to view a map of the routes.
T-shirts: In honor of Summit's 50th anniversary, every walker who registers at $10 and raises at least $50 in donations will get the Walk t-shirt! T-shirts and other incentives can be picked up at the Check In Tent on May 13.

  • Kids’ activities area with crafts and a prize wheel
  • The Aquarium of Niagara sensory station will be located in the grassy area (8 am - 12:30 pm)
  • Celebrate 50 years of Summit at the Memory Lane tent
  • Take a photo with Cinderella and Tinkerbell!
  • Live band and DJ playing your favorite tunes
  • Outback Kettle Korn will have tasty snacks available
  • Photo area donated by Buffalo Yard Signs
  • Summit Sales and Branding Buffalo will have Summit apparel and items available for purchase (cash, check or credit card accepted)

Post-Walk Celebration
  • Stop by the Owl Orthodontics Selfie Station at the end of the Walk to snap a quick photo
  • Bounce house
  • Bubble station
  • Jamie the Balloon Twister (10 am - 12 pm)
  • Reading corner under the gazebo, sponsored by EPIC

Refreshments: Coffee, hot chocolate and Timbits served between 8 - 9:30am, provided by Tim Hortons. Bagels provided by Paula’s Donuts. Complimentary refreshments served between 10:30am - 12pm, provided by Tops Markets (subject to change): apples, bananas, cookies, chips, pretzels, Rice Krispie Treats, fruit snacks, water, and juice boxes.

Fat Bob's and Anderson's food trucks will be available after the Walk for additional food options. Cash and credit cards accepted.

Out of courtesy to Walk participants, including those who may have an intense fear, dogs are not permitted at our event. Service dogs are allowed.
