The Summit Center Autism Walk

The Summit Center's Virtual Autism Walk

Presented by West Herr Automotive Group

Making Lives Better, One Step at a Time

Here's How the Virtual Walk Works.
We encourage you to devote 54 minutes of your time in honor of the 1 in 54 children impacted by autism. Anytime from June 1 – June 6, walk for 54 minutes. Or, walk a little each day to total 54 minutes over the course of the week.

Instead of gathering together at The Summit Center, participants will walk in their own neighborhood, in their favorite local park, or in a spot they’ve always wanted to visit. In addition, we’ll be posting weekly challenges to complete in celebration of The Summit Center’s work to make lives better.

Different Locations. Same Mission.
The Summit Center needs your support more than ever to continue providing exceptional programs and services. Your fundraising efforts will help our children and young adults to return to their second home at Summit when this crisis is over.

A virtual walk also enables those who do not live in Western New York to take part! Spread the word to family and friends who would love to express their support for a special person in their life. They can show solidarity by registering and walking in their own community.

Challenge #4
Who knew that we had so many Picassos in our group?! We received some outstanding submissions for the Week #3 masterpiece challenge. Check out these amazing pieces of art from Jenn M., Amy J., and Laura R. (Visit our Facebook group for the full photos!).

It is hard to believe we’re already on our last week of challenges. But that just means we are so close to Walk Week (June 1 – June 6) and we are so excited!

For Challenge #4, we want you to complete a random act of kindness! We hope that your kindness will inspire others to make someone’s day a little brighter.

Will you pay for someone’s coffee in the drive thru line? Bake cookies for your neighbors? Collect towels and blankets for an animal shelter? Please tell us all about the joy you spread in The Summit Center’s 2020 Virtual Autism Walk Facebook group (be sure to use the hashtag #54ForSummit!)

Not on Facebook? Don't worry! You can send your submission to autismwalk@thesummitcenter.org and we’ll post it in the group for everyone.

As always, thank you all for your support. Your enthusiasm and dedication make such a difference.
Challenge #3
We had a blast this week watching the Tik Tok videos that our wonderful walkers have submitted. If you haven’t had a chance, go to our Facebook group (here) and check some of them out!

The challenges aren’t just over yet! We have two more to go until Walk week, June 1 to June 6.

For Challenge #3, we want you to create a masterpiece! Use paint, colored pencils, sidewalk chalk, photographs, pressed flowers, the sky is the limit! You have until Sunday, May 25 to complete your piece.

When you’ve completed your beautiful work of art, please post it in The Summit Center’s 2020 Virtual Autism Walk Facebook group here (be sure to use the hashtag #54ForSummit so that we can all admire it!)

Not on Facebook? Don't worry! You can send your submission to autismwalk@thesummitcenter.org and we’ll post it in the group for everyone to admire.

As always, thank you all for your support. Your enthusiasm and dedication make such a difference.

PS - Make sure to get your friends and family registered at SummitWalk.org today so they can start fundraising and competing in weekly challenges!
