On Saturday, April 27, The Summit Center will hold its 20th Autism Walk to benefit children with autism and other related developmental, social, and behavioral challenges. As Summit’s largest fundraiser, the Autism Walk annually draws 2,500 participants and has raised more than two million dollars to benefit critical programs and services!  

We hope you will join us this year in celebration of our 20th Autism Walk! Since the Walk began, the event has positively impacted so many families that are affected by autism. With your support, we can continue to raise crucial funds to benefit critical programs and services.

The event has a long route (150 Stahl Road) along the Amherst Bike Path, and back to Summit or a short route around Summit's grounds, which is great for families. The post-walk picnic will feature food, beverages, children's activities, and live entertainment. To better serve our families, Summit Behavior Support Staff will be on-site for Walk Day. Please join us for this uplifting and fun-filled day!

Please do NOT bring any animals or pets on this Walk. Many of our students are sensitive to animals.

Important Dates:

4/17/2019 - Packet Pick-Up!
  • Pick-up your walker packet at 150 Stahl Road with bib, lunch ticket, event information, and tee/cap (if reached incentive). If you       cannot pick-up your packet on April 17, packets will be available on event day for pick-up. Pickup runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

4/27/2019 - WALK DAY!
  • 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  (Shuttle Service from Amherst Police Station/Audubon Library - 500 John James Audubon Parkway,                 Amherst, NY 14228 - parking on the left.)
  • 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. (Registration - all event attendees must register and sign the liability waiver. Registration will be under the          tent in the parking lot.)
  • 10:00 am - Noon (Walk Opening Ceremony. Walk immediately following.)
  • Noon - 1:30 p.m. (Post-walk picnic with food, beverages, entertainment and children's activities.)
     

Registration Fees:

Children under 18 do not need to register and will still receive a lunch.

Physical Fundraiser: You need to register as a Physical Fundraiser to physically attend the Walk on Walk Day. 

1/7 - 1/31 - $5   If you are a returning walker, use discount code: RETURNING until 1/31
2/1 - 3/31 - $10
4/1 - 4/12 - $25
Walk Day -  $50
If you have Independent Health as your insurance provider, please use discount code: IHA2019 to receive $5 off your registration. Independent Health will reimburse Summit $5 for those registrations through 4/1/2019.

Virtual Fundraiser: For participants who cannot attend on Walk Day, but would like to virtually participate by raising funds and awareness.
